Filed a claim with GEICO? MTY Collision handles GEICO insurance claims and collision repair across the Bay Area. In California the choice of body shop is yours, not your insurer's, so you can bring your car to any licensed shop you trust.
Here is what many drivers do not know: under California Insurance Code Section 758.5, no insurer can force you to repair your vehicle at a specific shop, and choosing your own shop cannot be held against your claim. GEICO can suggest a shop, but the decision is yours. If an adjuster steers you toward one, they are legally required to tell you that you do not have to go there.
MTY Collision is an independent, licensed body shop. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by GEICO, and we do not claim any GEICO membership. What we do is work directly with GEICO on your insurance claim, so you keep your right to choose and we handle the insurer for you.
Bring us the car, or let us arrange towing, and we take the claim from there. We open or continue your GEICO claim, document the damage with photos, and write a detailed estimate. GEICO reviews it, either by sending an adjuster to our shop or through their photo based estimate, and once repairs are authorized we get to work. If we find hidden damage after teardown, we file a supplement with GEICO directly, so you are not the one negotiating with an adjuster.
In most cases GEICO pays us directly after your authorization and their approval, and we explain any exception up front, such as a deductible you owe or a lienholder on the policy. You get a free written estimate with no appointment, direct billing, and updates by text or phone at every stage. Every repair is backed by our own lifetime warranty on workmanship, paint, and clear coat (non-transferable). Note that GEICO's repair guarantee applies to its network shops; when you choose MTY, your coverage is our warranty, which stands on its own. We are EV certified, we color match to your exact factory code, and se habla español.
We serve the Bay Area from three locations: our flagship shop in Santa Clara, open seven days a week, plus Hayward and San Mateo. We also have dedicated pages for drivers in Sunnyvale and Burlingame.
